Wallace Johnson
A private baseball instructor since 1985, Wallace was the Single A-Florida State League batting champion in his second pro season, 1980, Johnson reached the majors in September 1981 and played a key role down the stretch with three timely hits as the Expos captured its first division title. Johnson led the majors in pinch hits over the four season period of 1986-89 and is the Expos all-time pinch-hit leader. Johnson coached professionally for the Expos (Gulf Coast-WPB) and Atlanta Braves (Eugene, Macon and Durham) minor league systems. He was the third base coach for the Chicago White Sox under current New York Mets manager Jerry Manuel during 1998-2002 seasons.
