The Six Tool Players Story

Six Tool Players came into existence based upon the founders’ personal experiences of playing professional baseball and speaking with former teammates and coaches regarding the importance of the mental aspect of sports. During these conversations, it became evident to the baseball professionals that the major determinative of success in professional sports is the mental makeup of the player. We all had seen physically talented players not achieve the same level of success as less physically talented players who possess the “sixth tool” that allows the player to succeed in clutch situations, to battle through tough at-bats, and keep his head up during “slumps”.

In addition, we realized that the best teachers are generally the individuals who played the game at its highest levels. With the numerous relationships built with former teammates and the pearls of wisdom passed down for Baseball Hall of Famers, coaches, and managers, we wanted to develop a website that would provide anyone with access to the Internet the opportunity to learn more about the correct way to play baseball from the individuals who have worn baseball uniforms at the highest levels and learned from the best major league coaches.
